Boudoir Outfit Ideas

So many of my clients stress about this, and they really shouldn’t! Why you ask?

  • This session is so much more than the outfits that you choose - which is why I don’t want you to over think it, or stress about it! A lot of the time my clients’ favourite images are the ones in the sheets or in their birthday suit.

  • I have over 500 pieces ranging from XS-5X in my extensive client closet. I have all types of colours, styles, materials and brands that I’ll be sure to have something for you to wear and love for your shoot. I also have pointy pumps in sizes 6-11.

I send you a questionnaire to get to know your style and preferences a bit better before the shoot and I send you a detailed ‘how to prepare’ brochure with my favourite online and in person shops if you want to buy something special for your shoot. I always want you to feel confident and prepared before your shoot!

My top 5 Boudoir Outfit Ideas (with a grain of salt)

Everyone’s style and personality differs when it comes to how they want to portray themselves during their shoot - and I truly think that it’s more about the vibe and the confidence that stands out rather than the outfit.

My fave outfit idea will always be no outfit - aka going nude!

.Your body isn’t something that can go out of style, and it is 100% unique to you - so I urge you to photograph it now so that you can appreciate it later (because trust me, you will) <3

“Take a thousand naked pictures of yourself now… for one day you will look at those photos with much kinder eyes and say “Dear God, I was a beautiful thing!”

Sheets

A variation of implied nudity - the best of both worlds because you can be semi covered while still appearing naked. I have white, black, brown, purple, gold, champagne and red sheets to play with - so all you have to bring is yourself!

Bodysuits

I have a love/hate relationship with lingerie because it’s something that varies SO much in sizing which can lead to frustration, disappointment and not always feeling included. I swear so much of lingerie is designed by the opposite sex and the fact that all of our bodies are widely different doesn’t always come in to consideration. Having photographed hundreds of women over the past decade I know more and more what women feel good in, and what brands/types of outfits help accentuate our unique and beautiful shapes + sizes!

Bodysuits are the universal outfit that looks good on everyone! They get bonus points because you can get them as risqué or as tame as you want, and they are relatively comfortable for moving/bending/posing in (minus the 80’s camel toe long torso bodies get to enjoy) How can you not love something with so many pluses?

Fishnets (either full body, or waist high)

These are always fun because they make everyone look good and they give that alter ego sexy vibe that is always fun to embrace during your shoot!

Want a tip on the absolute best boudoir outfit that you can bring?

ANYTHING that makes you feel good!!! SERIOUSLY! I want this session to be customized to you, so please don’t hesitate to bring your confidence and anything that feels like YOU!

I’ve had clients bring fur jackets, kinky accessories like handcuffs, ball gags + spreaders, records, jeans/tshirt, their wedding veil - the list goes on! While I don’t love costume jewelry, oversized jerseys or your partners stiff way too big collared shirt - we can usually make anything work!
