The Art of Outdoor Boudoir Portraits : Embrace your Empowerment

Outdoor boudoir portraits are one of the most transformational and empowering things you can do to for yourself.

The art of outdoor boudoir portraits is that you don’t have to Imagine feeling fresh air deep in your lungs, the sound of rustling leaves in the background and the energy of Mother Nature in your soul, you get to actually experience it.

“Boudoir” literally translates to a woman’s bedroom, and that’s one reason the word boudoir has never worked well for my outdoor portrait sessions. Although an indoor, more traditional boudoir session can have its own appeal, they don’t harness the same energy that an outdoor session does. A lot of women feel more connected to the idea of being in more natural settings with their more natural self.

This doesn’t mean you have to be nakey for your outdoor session, but there is something so freeing and liberating about being at one with nature in your truest form.

An outdoor boudoir portrait session is an experience like no other, and is 100% tailored to the unique and divine woman that you are.

Even from the few photos above, you can see why choosing to have your boudoir portrait session outdoors is a unique twist to the more traditional indoor photography session.

I love getting to know each of my clients well before they even step in front of my camera. That includes finding a spot that feels safe and empowering to you! Do you love being immersed in the forest? Near a babbling brook? Do you love the wind flowing through tall grasses, or being high up in the mountains?

We will choose a space and time of year that feels authentic to you and from there we can intertwine the natural elements with your energy and your body. Let’s explore and mesh your connection with nature with my creativity to make it an unforgettable and unique to you experience.

To me, women are a direct representation of nature. Mother Nature is always evolving and ever changing. There is an ebb and flow to the cycle of life that is also seen in how girls become women, how women become mothers, how our bodies and emotions flow up and down every month. We are as mighty as a rushing waterfall, and as deep as a still lake. Finding a spot that resonates with your internal compass helps you connect with the radiant, open, powerful woman you are.

There is something transformative about seeing yourself as you see nature - perfectly imperfect; an ever changing masterpiece that has multiple layers of beauty throughout all seasons.

Have you heard the saying “stop comparing yourself. Flowers are beautiful, and so are sunsets - but they look nothing alike.” Or maybe it’s a Rose vs a Cala Lily - or maybe it’s a hot summer day by the pool vs fresh snow right before you go skiing. All of these things are wonderful, beautiful and perfect in your mind, and your top choice might not be another person’s ideal choice- so why do we put pressure on ourselves to be one specific brand of beautiful?

When you are outside for your boudoir portrait session you will feel powerful, energized and confident. Celebrating your natural beauty in nature and re-living that strength after is something that will help you step outside your limiting beliefs about yourself.

An outdoor boudoir session is something that should be on every woman’s bucket list because it’s a feeling of unbridled self confidence that is unlike any other!

If you’ve gotten this far, I think you are ready to book in for your very own boudoir portrait session!!!

So - what how do we start the process Roz?

* First, you can find more about my sessions and my frequently asked questions if you CLICK HERE

* You can email when you’re ready HERE

* Once you’ve emailed we book a complimentary phone consult so that I can get to know you a bit better and what you would want out of an outdoor boudoir session! It’s so great to be able to connect and for you to be able to ask any questions to me and to find an available date for the time of year you are looking for! I also love chatting about my boudoir client closet and discussing and coming up with any ideas for your shoot together!

* You’ve chatted with me, and you’ve booked your date - you’ll get my How to Prepare PDF and my 1st questionnaire that asks all about your style and preferences for the client closet and for the shoot. Because outdoor sessions can be super unpredictable with the weather and where we can shoot, I love to know more about what you envision and are comfortable with.

* My rule of thumb is that anywhere we can get to, anyone else can get to as well, so there is always the chance that we can run in to other humans; however, I try really hard to find spots that are off the beaten track so we can feel as open and comfortable during the process!

* We are in contact up until your shoot, and I love to give you lots of encouragement and resources to connect with yourself and your body before the shoot even comes around! I also love doing a FaceTime pre-consult before your session so that you can meet me ‘in person ish’ before your shoot date!

* Your date is here and we are both SO excited! I’ll be at the studio with you during hair and makeup and then it’ll just be you and me to try things on and pack everything up and head outdoors!!!!

Don’t just take my word for it - read some of my client’s own words on their outdoor session experiences:

“I had an outdoor boudoir session with Rozalind recently and it was AMAZING!! I kept telling her that even if I don’t see a single photo, the experience alone was so awesome. Roz went to scout for locations ahead of time and found the best private spot with a little bit of everything. She went above and beyond before the session, during the session, and afterwards. Thank you Roz for making us all feel incredible, empowered, and sexy!!!” - E

“Thank you so much for doing the shoot for me. Not only did you use your amazing talents to create the most beautiful and powerful images of me, but you guided me back into my power, that I was beginning to lose touch with. I believe we were meant to have that time together, and I am so sooooo grateful. You are so talented, bright and energetic. Thank you for all that you do, and for just being you.” C

“My favorite part of the experience was how comfortable you made me feel!!! I loved the whole experience from the minute I booked to when I got my photos. I just have never felt so empowered.

I’ve never been one to be comfortable in my body until this experience. From the compliments to the photoshoot to hair and makeup I just felt like a goddess!! I can’t just name one thing I loved the most! I LOVED THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE!!! The amount of time and dedication there was made the whole experience with the time and price. No amount of money can by the way I felt about my self on that day. I would recommend anyone to do this at some point in their life. Rozalind will forever be my hype woman <3” - H

There is no better time to reconnect with yourself than now. A boudoir portrait session does not have to be a once in a lifetime experience. I love photographing women through all stages of life to see the power that they harness as they find themselves more fully. We need to start appreciating ourselves now, because trust me - each day will pass and suddenly you will realize that those extra 5 pounds didn’t actually matter, or that you should have been prioritizing yourself all along.

These images, and this experience is for you. It’s a stepping stone in the journey to connect with, and appreciate the woman that you are right now.

It’s a confidence booster like no other and you will leave feeling like you can conquer all of your fears.

A big question I always get asked, is do I have to share my images online? The answer is a resounding NO. These are YOUR photos of YOUR body and that means you always get the final say without judgement or coercion. I take your privacy very seriously and want you to know that your session is safe with me.

SO - are you ready to experience the outdoors with an unforgettable boudoir portrait session?
